Between Rangi and Papa
is a Plateau of Vitality

Where forests breath, oceans sway, rivers dance, and animals play. Intertwined and laced together these mutli dimensional realms of Earth, Sky, and everything inbetween are unified as a single living entity.

ōNuku means “of Earth.” In this view, humanity is woven within the ecosystems and life forces that form Papatūānuku (Mother Earth). And though we make a formidable portion of Earth’s identity, by no means do we define it.

He kaupapa Māori a ōNuku, e whai nei i ngā tauira o Taiao mō te noho māori ki te whenua, mō te waihanga hoki i ngā pūnaha oranga ka whakamahia tātou te ira tangata.

ōNuku is a kaupapa Māori charitable trust made from a collective of whānau who are committed to living and practising a way of life that restores and regenerates the natural world around them.

ōNuku holds wānanga and hands-on workshops that provide participants with skills and experience around designing their own home scale food systems, planting food forests, and growing abundant gardens. Key to our vision is the creation of bi-lingual Te Reo and Mātauranga Māori educational resources to serve, inspire, and support the capacity for whānau to live off and regenerate the land.
